Light-Filled, Space-Defying Bathroom

For this project we were tasked with maximizing the space for this small bathroom in a 1950s house. The clients wanted to add storage as they previously had none and make the room feel as spacious as possible despite its small footprint. We added a deep floor to ceiling niche with custom built-in shelving and space for a narrow hamper, a wall-mounted toilet that added an additional 12” of space, a glass-walled shower stall with custom niche and overhead skylight, chose a vessel sink and wall-mounted plumbing fixtures to maximize the storage space in the vanity below and installed a countertop to ceiling mirror to act as a backsplash, reflect light, and optically expand the space.
